Monique Todd, M.A. President
Monique Todd has two Masters degrees, one in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and the other in Education Administration, Tier 1. She is a Doctoral Candidate (Ed.D) at Fielding University in Santa Barbara. She has 7 years experience as a classroom teacher and administrator. Monique has taught graduate school (Masters Degree in Educational Leadership) in Santa Barbara for four years. She is the creator of the "Brain in a Box" games series. Monique has written several approved proposals and grant applications and is available to meet with district administrators to develop creative funding sources for tutoring and afterschool programs.
Glenn O'Connell, Vice President, Operations
Glenn is our in-house import/export expert. Glenn spent 25 years in the electronics industry as Vice President of an international supplier to the cable TV and satellite industry. His responsibilities include product development and overseas product sourcing. He has extensive contacts in the overseas manufacturing industry, and has collaborated with organizations in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China and The Philippines.
Sports, particularly softball, are one of his favorite pastimes. Glenn is an executive board member of a local Little League organization and volunteers many hours weekly to youth sports programs.
Sergio Trujillo, Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Sergio worked in retail sales, market management and print advertising for 13 years before coming on board with Carney in 2007. While with the Busybody chain, he helped transform a 9 store company into the 60 store chain it is today through acquisitions and new store openings. In his many years with the company, he worked in all aspects of the business from store manager to district manager and then regional manager before finishing up in the corporate office. Sergio has a bachelor's degree in sociology from California State University, Northridge. He has been happily married for 15 years and is the father of three wonderful children. He is very active in the local sports community and has coached youth softball and basketball teams for the last 6 years. He is currently managing an elite 14U club fast pitch softball team and will be representing the area in St. Louis this summer after qualifying for nationals.
Carolyn Carlson, Director of Curriculum
Carolyn loves to teach almost as much as she loves to learn. She began her career in education teaching high school students. Over the years, she has taught every grade, from kindergarten through middle school. She holds two teaching credentials, (multi-subject and single subject), and a Masters of Arts in Collaborative Educational Leadership. Carolyn lives in California with her husband, David, and her three children-- Mackenzie, Avery, and Emma--who teach her something new every day.
Rob Reyes, Design and Administration
Robert, Graphic Designer/Administrator for AfterSchoolStore.com, majored in graphic arts at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. He has worked in graphics for fifteen years, and has an extensive background in computers and network administration. He lives in California with his wife and two children, Jade and Charlotte.
Mark Hovis, Regional Sales Manager
Mark worked in electronics distribution in product management, field sales and in sales management positions for several Fortune 500 companies for 24 years prior to coming onboard in February of 2008. He also worked with large OEM's to identify, evaluate, and implement new service approaches and concepts to exceed customer expectations, improve service levels, and streamline workflows. Mark is the father of three daughters and has been happily married for 16 years. He has achieved National Coach Credentials within the American Youth Soccer Organization and is actively involved with the organization, serving as an Area Director for the city of Santa Clarita. He also coaches a Select Soccer Girls U12 team and a Girls U16 team.
